Horse riding
in South Tyrol
Riding holidays in South Tyrol: Yes, South Tyrol is the home of the Haflinger horse. This breed of mountain horse is well renowned for its good nature and friendly disposition which makes it particularly popular amongst teenagers. In the Merano riding centre and in the Schloss Baslan stables in Marling, beginners and more advanced riders alike can experience the feel of this very special breed of horse.
Dashing through the forest with a trusty horse beneath you, a pistol in your holster – perhaps not quite like that these days but the riding experience still has echoes of the cowboy lifestyle that the Westerns would have you believe. Finally something different on offer for your teenager! If you are interested you can go to the Quellenhof in the sport zone of St. Martin, or to the Sandhof in St. Leonhard, both in the Passeier Valley.
Of course there are many other breeds for you to ride. Those who really love Haflinger horses can go to Reiterhof Sulfner in Hafling, above Merano. All these places can be reached by car within half an hour of Merano.
"Riding is the quest for beauty, the perfect line and truth", so said Nuno Oliveira, the Portuguese professional rider and author. At Giardino Marling we couldn't agree more.
Tennis Complex or play
right in Giardino

Van der Meer's training programme has been specially developed to provide participants with lasting success and tailored intensive physical activity during their active holiday. You too can take advantage of this opportunity to improve your tennis technique during your holiday!
Right on site at Hotel Giardino Marling our grass courts are available free of charge to our guests. Paragliding
in South Tyrol
Paragliding comes very, very close to the ultimate dream of being able to fly: like an eagle, that incomparable feeling of weightlessness as you hover above the mountains and take in the breathtaking scenery beneath you without any disturbance. Here, on the south-facing mountain facades, you will find the perfect prerequisites for paragliding. Even those without any basic training can experience the amazing feeling of flying by undertaking a tandem flight. Age is of (almost) no importance: tandem flights can be made by children and OAPs equally easily providing they have a basic level of fitness. We are so looking forward to you returning to us at Giardino Marling to tell us tales of your paragliding experiences!
Biking
& Mountain Biking
Biking in Vinschgau

Make use of the Vinschger Railway and ride all the way to Mals. With your event card you can hire a bike there and bike the fantastic bike route all the way back to Merano. In Marling there are a large number of suitable trails and in the wider Merano area there are an even wider variety of very beautiful Nordic Walking trails with very little incline.
